I've realized that some sort of artisitic urge is waiting underneath all of the deadening layers I have built to manipulate through this life. Quite honestly, the main reason why I've consistently pushed in down or away is because of all the voices around repeating the chant "starving artist".

Then it struck me. I would rather be without a penny as long as I could bring light into someone's life. With no food but to feed someone's starving soul. That is my passion. I've been focusing too much on "success" and "achievement" - when all the while I need to focus on "passion".

I hope one day I can meet that person who shares the same ignition of the passion for life. Every day I see pieces coming together within my own life and I cry when I read others' recorded thoughts - be it poems, pictures, videos or simple words. It all means something and I hope to one day find it.

May I never lose this passion, el pacion.

Roses

Voice

As I've talked with others about, I've struggled all my life with having a 'voice'. I've spent over a week with one side of the family and now I'll be spending a little while with the other side.

I've realized something:

One side doesn't listen and one side doesn't talk.

Adaptation

I watched the film Lost Worlds: Life in the Balance today and really enjoyed it.

In the middle of the film, they speak about how plants and animals have evolved different strategies for survival. Some trap and consume but all must learn how to survive on such poor and scarce resources. The beautiful and vivid life that thrives in such an environment is a testament to nature's perserverance.
